Logistics Centre Quali-Night, Kölliken
The purpose of Quali-Night AG’s new building is for transhipment from large lorries onto small transport vehicles with trailers. Approx. 90 loading docks and a fully automated sorting system are in place to do this.
The floor plan of the two-storey industrial hall measures 120 m x 78 m. An intermediate ceiling spanning as far as 29 m bears heavy transport vehicles weighing up 7.5 t or payloads of 750 kg/m2. The main load-bearing system for the floor slab is made of a framework of prefabricated columns and girders. Prefabricated rib members run crosswise to this. The roof structure has the same design principle, but with wood: a main supporting structure with glulam girders and rib elements made of squared timber and an OSB board all the way through.
Thanks to systematic prefabrication, it was possible to build the supporting structure from the foundation in just four months.
