Covering of A1 OLMA Exhibition Hall, St. Gallen
OLMA Messen St. Gallen needs additional exhibition space to further develop its business. For this purpose, the Rosenberg Tunnel will be extended to the east (covering the motorway over a length of approx. 200 m) and a new exhibition hall will be built on the newly created space.
The new exhibition hall is also located on the Swiss Federal Railways tunnel running parallel to and north of the motorway. The covering is being built wide enough for a third tube to the south of the existing motorway, which is planned for the end of the 2020s and will be con-structed using a cut-and-cover construction method. As the motorway can only be closed for installation during the night, the covering structure is largely being constructed using prefabri-cated construction methods (prestressed concrete girders) with in-situ concrete additions. The contract is being handled in an engineering consortium together with Amberg Engineering (tunnel construction, motorway logistics) and Seger Ingenieure (works management, surround-ings & coordination).
